Transactional Analysis in Scientific Research – Key Question
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of scientific research of transactional analysis. A brief overview of the problem of relevance is given. We carry out a review of modern literary sources on this topic. We criticize scientific research methods such as double-blind controlled research in relation to psychotherapy. It is shown how the process of accumulating knowledge affects the theory of transactional analysis itself, including through integration with other therapeutic schools. The prospects and goals of the modern scientific study of transactional analysis are outlined.
Adaptation of the questionnaire «Life position scale»
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to adapt the «Life Position Scale» questionnaire on the Russian sample. Materials and methods. The procedure was carried out to translate the text of the original questionnaire into Russian, collect empirical data: 170 respondents (106 female, 64 male, median age – 26 years old), further process the data and obtain average scores for the Russian sample using the median method; the median for I scale is 38, for U scale – 34. Results and discussion. Average scores (medians) were obtained for the scales I and U, which are cut-off points that allow categorizing the life situation of the test taker. Conclusion. The results of the study showed that the proposed Russian-language version of the questionnaire is valid and allows one to determine the basic life position.
Studying the life position of clients with various psychopathological conditions
Abstract
The article presents the results of determining the life position of clients with various psychopathological conditions using the Russian-language adaptation of the questionnaire F. Boholst’s “The life position scale”. 156 patients of both genders (90 women and 66 men) aged from 21 to 47 years were examined, the average age was 28.41 ± 11.14 years. The research included 4 groups of respondents invited using an online questionnaire: people with drug addiction (16.67%), people with nicotine addiction (30.77%), patients with eating disorders (35.9%) and patients with manifestations of auto-aggressive behavior in the form of suicide attempts and self-harm (16.67%). It was revealed that the predominant life position of the position of patients who are addicted to nicotine is “I am not OK, You are OK” (depressive position), the life position of the position of patients with drug addiction is “I am OK, You are OK” (healthy position), the life position of girls with eating disorders is “I am not OK, You are not OK” (schizoid position), the life position of people prone to autoaggressive reactions is “I am not OK, You are OK” (depressive). Based on the results of the study, this questionnaire can be recommended for use to assess the life positions of not only healthy people, but also patients of various nosological groups.
